ADHD: Children with ADHD have more problems in early adulthood

Children with untreated ADHD frequently go on to have the disorder in young adulthood and have increased problems with getting fired, higher credit card debt and a greater likelihood of becoming parents by age 21, according to a new study. The 13-year study tracked 147 children with ADHD beginning at age 7 and compared them with 76 neighbor children and found that about a third dropped out of high school, about one in three became parents by their early 20s and they had more debt than the neighbors.
