Pinoy Teachers Network...one month now!

OUR HOME: http://pinoyteachersnetwork.blog-city.com

"Any new endeavour is always tough in the beginning". Hah! Whoever said this is an all time motivator; I believe he's one of those people who helped to change the world by changing people's attitude about themselves; I agree with him, it's true, it happens.

I gave us just two weeks to plan this out and prepare for the launching. Ready or not, the website of the Pinoy Teachers Network went officially up in cyberspace on July 12, 2005. We took the challenge. We learned from our own experiences and then finding our own way out of the obstacles we encountered. For most of us, quitting or not trying isn't an option.

It's been a month, can you believe it? What happened during that span of time, aside from my being so busy and missing my blog hopping routine?

We have more than 50 members now, and still growing. Teachers from the University of the Philippines (Visayas), Mindanao State University, De la Salle University, Claret School of QC, Xavier School in Greenhills... are proving themselves worthy of the title "Teacher" by being leaders themselves in their own schools.

We also have members as far as Japan, Singapore, Texas, Arizona, California, Washington DC...who are Teacher Leaders themselves and are as persistent as we all are in disseminating the information about the Pinoy Teachers Network.

It was intimidating for us because nobody among us have ever done this before. To find the answer, we had to go outside the box. We learned to communicate via email and the Internet, and soon podcasts.

I am so lucky to find people who are willing to help without complaints. Who are also willing to learn by doing. They are few of the people I know who are effective communicators, who persuade with modesty, who are leaders themselves. I thank the Core Group Members of the Pinoy Teachers Network who are the people behind the success of this pinoy teachers' community around the globe. The success of one is the success of all...

    HI SOL,

So glad to receive a letter from you again.Eto medyo nasa circulation na rin pero yun nga, still difficult finding more time online.

Congrats pala sa PINOY TEACHER NETWORK nyo, I am monitoring it closely and maganda talaga and project na ito. I saw it being born and sa isang iglap, biglang lumaki. It only shows how greatly capable you are not only as a teacher, but some sort of a leader also.

Napagtripan ko lang ang picture. While i was chatting on messenger, nalaman ko na pwede pala icapture yung chat pics so sabi ko ilagay ko na lang sa blog ko para meron naman kahit konting hint and mga readers ko kung how i look, so that i wont be unfair. Medyo malabo nga ang pictures. I am thinking of scanning a clearer picture siguro later on. Para wala nang maskara...tulad ng sabi mo, ni Batman.

  11. DARKBLAK, salamat! Thanks for being one of us. Congrats to you too.

    NOLI,

Hi! Are you back home na? How are you? Thanks for the kind words. I hope we can invite more teachers (especially teacher leaders) to join us in the Pinoy Teachers Network (www.pinoyteachersnetwork.blog-city.com) . Also, I am particularly interested with your sister, you said she can draw some sketches? Maybe it's not yet too late for us to publish her works and let people know about how she struggles with the limitations of her disability. You have sample of her works? Are you willing to share them, and your own story of your sister? I am willing to publish her story as one of the PINOY PRIDEs. How's that? Pls let me know.

  12. JONAS, thanks also for all your support (the logo and the information dissemination). You're an asset! I am so glad you liked the simple token of appreciation that we sent you.

JOHN CLARK, let me know if you still want to join the network. You were a teacher and still has your heart in teaching, as long as you're an advocate of education, you can join. By the way, I am curious, what are these "toys for the big boys" that you're into? Tech stuff? Pwede ba ako one of the boys :D

Oo naman, I am your fan. Nakita ko kung pano ka nabaril, bumagsak, tumayo ulit, at ang ganda na ng blog mo ngayon. Yan ang Pinoy!

MAJOR TOM, thanks for being very supportive of the Pinoy Teachers Network. Indeed, we are all blessed because good things happen to us. Yes we started small, but we are continually growing and improving. Thanks for always being there...

NIKKI, thanks for your support all the way. Ilan na ba ang sumali sa network dahil sa referrals mo? At natutuwa kami sa mga entries mo about PTN at yung logo sa sidebar mo. Kaisa ka na namin talaga...

I was just going through the new applicants this morning and was quite tickled and pleased with what I found. Surfing through all the sites so far in this web blog, it just confirms for me again how wonderful filipinas really are and that there are many, many facets to filipinas that we have to promote on the Internet. Remember, the reason why I started this webring is two-fold: (1) To change the early stereotypes of Filipinas as sex objects, and (2) To share the best of who Filipinas are not just for the sake of the idiots who believe the stereotypes, but for US Filipinas so we can remember who we are, and for those Filipinas who need to know that they can be the best of whatever
they want to be! Please be sure to invite your friends to be part of this webring. The more the merrier! So thank you, thank you to all of you who are helping these goals get done. More love, power, peace and joy to all of you, your loved ones and your work in the world. Perla"
