Principal shares key leadership qualities

High-school principal Dwight Carter in this blog post shares his top leadership principles and how each is present at his school. Among the principles are vision, clear expectations and the development of positive relationships -- a goal at his high school, where the staff schedules social events and there is a focus on nurturing new students. Carter's other principles include communication, teamwork, accountability and learning. Connected Principals blog

In a course I am currently taking we have been learning about collaboration and what it requires to have true collaboration in a school and this article reflects almost exactly what we have been discussing. There needs to be a shared vision and goals, open and clear communication, common expectations, parity, and so on. I think it is great to see a principal taking such an active role in implementing these aspects at his school!
