Educators, parents furious over proposed California cuts

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's proposal to cut around $5 billion in education funding over the next year and a half -- including $358 million from special-education programs -- represents the deepest cuts to school funding ever proposed in the state, some education advocates said. "With Arnold's cuts, we'll be at the bottom," said parent Robert Studdiford. "We're educating our children like an underdeveloped nation."
