Toronto school violence incidents going unreported

Toronto school employees fear that lodging complaints about school violence will hurt their careers, which is preventing hundreds of incidents from being reported, according to a report from a school-safety panel convened after a 15-year-old student was shot. "I think that until [the shooting] happened, we probably thought we had a pretty good handle on it," said John Campbell, chairman of Toronto's school board. "And I think what that did is it really drew attention to the fact that we didn't have a very good handle on it." The Globe and Mail (Toronto)
