Holiday Poems from Exceptional Students

This post is also read from my school website: http://jeffersonjuniorhighschool.blog-city.com

NOW IS THE TIME!
By Lashawn C.
Grade 7

I see snowman out my window
I hear kids playing
I taste the hot cocoa in my mouth
I smell the pie in the oven
I feel the freezing snow in my hand
I think the kids will try to throw the snowball
I sense I’m getting too cold
I know how to make holiday cookies
I believe now is the time to have fun … it’s the HOLIDAYS!

SANTA IN TOWN!
By Kevin H.
Grade 7

Santa is coming down the chimney
Leaving the angels to watch over him
Energetic reindeers follow behind him
Interesting gifts wanting for some opening
Going 5 miles per hour to get to the houses
Hoping the kids are fast asleep.

I AM A SNOWMAN
By Larenzo F.
Grade 7

Snowball, snowflakes thrown around
Wind blowing I am so cold right now
Rolling down the snow make me feel like a snowman,
A snowman without a carrot on my nose
Make me want to say, “Oh my goodness!
I do not have a carrot nose!”.

Thanks for sharing your students' poems; they were so sweet and
reminded me that junior high kids are still kids and need lots of TLC!

i like the one made by Larenzo most. But they're all great. I was only into plays, studying lessons and scribbling when I was 7.

In fact, I only tried writing poems when I was 11 already.

Great stuff. Looks like you're really motivating your students to express themselves in a very creative manner.
