Federal judge dismisses lawsuit against Washington district

The Washington state Department of Social and Health Services and not the local school district bears the responsibility for ensuring students at a residential facility for teens with developmental disabilities receive a suitable education, a U.S. District Court judge ruled Tuesday. The advocacy group Disability Rights Washington, which sued after the district closed a junior high near the facility to open a new building, plans to appeal. Kitsap Sun (Kitsap Peninsula, Wash.)
