Teachers have chosen job security over better pay

Teachers have settled for near-universal job security rather than competing for better pay as other workers do, writes Dallas-area high school English teacher Susan Creighton. If educators are serious about wanting better salaries, they must be willing to trade in some of this security for accountability based on effectiveness and a wage that reflects this performance.
