D.C. could retain uncertified teachers in hard-to-fill fields

From the CEC Smart Brief:

The Washington school system said 450 of the district's 820 or so uncertified teachers could be fired if it can't find qualified replacements for them by late August or early September. The teachers union confirmed it will not help the remaining 370 uncertified teachers slated for dismissal this Friday. The Washington Post (free registration) (6/25)
