Retired Marine master sergeant teaches special ed


Lee Benjamin spent 27 years in the Marines, returned to school and now teaches children with severe emotional disturbances. After being abandoned by his father and left to take care of five younger siblings, Benjamin acted out in school until mentored by patient male teachers. When retiring from the military, he decided he wanted to help youth who have the same anger, fear and resentment he once had. Orlando Sentinel (Fla.)
