U.S. spelling champion prefers math, music

Evan M. O'Dorney, 13, won the 80th annual Scripps National Spelling Bee on Thursday night on the final word "serrefine," which means "a small forceps for clamping a blood vessel." But Evan, who is home-schooled in Danville, Calif., confessed he preferred mathematics and music, although he now likes spelling "maybe a little bit."
