National Adapted Physical Education Teacher of the Year Nancy Rud Gordon treats her young charges like their peers, not as if their disabilities make them fragile. "Treat them like any other kid. If they fall down, make them get back up," said Gordon, a 20-year veteran who teaches preschoolers in a suburban Minneapolis district.
