Wal-Mart ordered to pay $250,000 to fired technician with disabilities

A Wal-Mart pharmacy technician who was demoted to door greeter then fired because she needed a cane to accommodate injuries from a gunshot wound will be paid $50,000 in back pay, $50,000 in attorney's fees and $150,000 in compensation, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said Monday. It's the second such Wal-Mart ADA settlement this year; a court in April ordered Wal-Mart pay a job candidate with cerebral palsy $300,000. The Sun (Baltimore)
