Closing the Achievement Gap: Strategies for Teaching Content to Low Achieving Students

Teachers need tools they can use in the classroom to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with disabilities. The Strategic Instruction Model's (SIM) Learning Strategies Curriculum and Content Enhancement Routines, developed through the University of Kansas Center for Research on Learning, provide a proven and comprehensive array of strategies to use in all classrooms and in all content areas from grades four through 12. Join this session to learn strategies designed for general education teachers in content areas, special education teachers and related-service providers. SIM provides a framework for whole-school implementation of interventions.
