To the DCPS Community,
I am sorry to report to you that last night Dr. Marla Oakes—Executive Director of the Office of Early Intervening Supports—died after many years of dedicated work on behalf of children. Please follow the message to The Washington Teacher's blog. Dr. Marla Oakes is a sincere advocate for our students with special needs, an effective central office director, and a very compassionate leader. I am mourning right now as I pray for the eternal repose of her soul...
