Schools to receive billions in stimulus money this month

U.S. schools are expected to receive billions of dollars in economic-stimulus money in the next few weeks, and there are plans to invest about $100 billion over the next several months, federal officials announced Friday. U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan sent a five-page document to school officials instructing them to spend the money quickly to save and create new jobs as well as help boost student achievement.
