NBPTS works to increase teacher quality in high-need schools

The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards has created several initiatives to put more National Board Certified Teachers in high-needs schools. Through the organization's "Targeted High-Need Initiative" program, efforts are under way with schools, state and local education agencies, and the higher-education community to support teachers pursuing National Board Certification in Title I schools.
