Debate helps gifted students learn research, critical thinking

Two dozen Maryland middle school students are debating various issues as part of a class developed to teach them the art of thinking critically and crafting reasoned arguments. "I just see it as a really powerful teaching tool," said teacher Nan Dove. "It makes them better students and better citizens." The Sun (Baltimore)
