On NCLB anniversary, Bush urges renewal

President George W. Bush on Monday told Congress to reauthorize NCLB but at the same time vowed to veto any bill that weakens the law's accountability measures. While Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., plans to introduce a bill in the spring, Center on Education Policy president Jack Jennings says little hope remains that the law will be renewed in 2008.
