HAPPY FIRST “MONTHSARY” TO THIS BLOG :)
This blog used to be a boring anthology of my poetry with the heading "My Heart Whispers" (see the side bar, My Poetry Collection). I used to be a quiet blogger blogging about the world I live in in my DIGITAL BOOK. I was getting good comments from students, teachers, people from all walks of life. Even DH in HongKong and US navymen tell me that I inspire them with my writings. Seeing my CLASS DIGITAL ANTHOLOGY, a friend from pinoyforum.com suggested that I should create an Educator’s Blog where I can inspire parents, students, teachers, or anybody who stumble in my blog.
Teacher Sol’s blog was born a month ago.

I found this game from WARMSTONE’s blog, who got it from congenial playwright Dean, who got this one from speculative writer Banzai Cat... can you also give it a try? This is fun really. The following are the questions Warmstone asked me.
1. As a mother who works abroad, how will your child/ren be reared into responsible individual/s when undeniably mothers play a vital role in value formation? I am raising up my daughter proud of being a Filipino too, an achiever in her own right, with high positive expectations to help her maximize her potentials.
2. If the president of the Philippines will ask you how to make the excellent teachers stay, what would be your answer? The efforts of these excellent teachers should be recognized and rewarded.
3. What could be the reason/s of teacher shortages in America considering that it is a first world country? First, children here have their rights, and they know that. They see it as power bestowed to them over the teachers. Second, because of a law (No Child Left Behind), all teachers who are not licensed are being taken out of their positions; and teachers should only teach in the area where they are certified in.
4. You were born in a country where woman suffrage is prohibited, how would you make your voice be heard? Advocate, live by example. There are silent ways to make your voice be heard.
5. You learned that one of your best friends is referred to as one of those detestable bloggers, what would you do? Even if the blogger is not my best friend, I will stick to what I believe in about her. And I will tell her to carry on…life goes on.

ANJEL, yep, I was still there when Channel 2 started with Game ka na ba? This is just going to be my second year here in the U.S. I don't have access to the TFC channel here because my husband used to work in the news at ABS CBN and he gets sad when he sees his reporter friends/ barkada on TV. He used to supervise them in the field as the news field producer. Nice to get a message from you, you're very refreshing!

It's my first time to really read this digital book. Boy, bumaha ng luha dito. We have something in common, year of the Tiger, a mother, UP-LB, masters Ateneo, canada. Except, I am business application programmer, I was kinda very wary of reading personal stuff on the net... because of privacy issues and security. However, the message coveyed on your Digital book inspires people. This is brave of you to share and you know, it touches people.. really. It makes me think that my problem is nothing compared to what you have surpassed. Indeed, being able to stand on our own feet is also the best lesson I learned and realized in my life's journey. You are courageous and generous ... I do include you in my prayers. Happy 1month birthday to your blog!

ANONYMOUS, I've told somebody this as an advice, because from my experiences in life (which you've just read in my DIGITAL BOOK)I learned a lot of things. I try to keep the lessons. In our battles of life, we take punches. Some may hurt. This too will pass. Life goes on, we have to face life heads up. It's not all "milk and honey" for me here, believe me. But I consider this part of life as another challenge. By the way, your comments give me appetite to write more.
BUGSYBEE, I should've listened to my instinct, parang naramdaman ko na baka single by choice ka. But a part of me insisted that I should ask you #5 because I felt that you're a mother at heart.

nakikiusyoso lang... napaka interesante ng mga tanong mo, teacher sol ;) i also just recently read your digital blog. hanga ako sa tapang mo. oo nga pala, baka may kilala kang friend kong nasa new york naman. teaching assistant siya pero alam ko as of the last time na nag e-email email kami, she was taking some sort of certification to be able to teach full time. early childhood educ naman forte nun. her nickname is dimple. wala siyang blog but i'm thinking it would be a nice thing to hook her up with you and other teachers there so she'd be less lonely.

Sapphire. Its special since it symbloizes my birth month. Though i prefer diamonds haha so i bought a sapphire earrings with diamonds around it so i can have bought.

Cellphone - the most handy means of communication
Globe roaming cellphone - for without this my friends in the Phils wont text me back since piso lang ang charged if they text me here instead of texting me on my Vancouver cellnumber.
Digital camera - it captures memories and deletes unwanted ones hehehe

My mother's face. So i can see her everyday when she's away.

Hmmm its a Spanish family name. Mostly from Spanish generals so it probably mean GENERAL or greatness. Though recently a general with the same last name didnt do justice to our last name. Just hope we arent connected haha

ANSWERS:
1. no. i have fear of heights and i hate flying. also the higher u fly the further u fall.. get it.
2. i felt nervous.. i am scared of thunder and lightning. i put arplugs that i use for target shooting so i would not hear the noise.
3. NBA.. contracts are more lucrative in the nba, and more endorsment possibilities also ess brutal. NFL is a very barbaric sport.
4. yes i do remember. what did i do? well one night, oh i cant say that, we have to keep it pg. e he he. but seriously, my wife when i met her about 10 yrs ago was a ocw, she was a urse. she was having problems just like plenty of her co workers on getting a nursing home r hosp to sponsor them. hosp wld allow them to work but would nt sponsor them for immigrant status. i told her that whatever happens, i would not leave her. i have been in the states for a long time, but if i had to go bk to phil with her, i wld be more than happy to pack my bags and go with her. whatever happens we wld be together. tld her to save her money and at tht time, i was also working 2 jobs, so i was also making decent money. if she hd to go bk to phil, i wld have went wth her. THAT MADE HER VERY HAPPY knowing that whever the chips may fall, we are together
5. yes i would. but again, i have to accept the fact that us parents, all we can do is show our children the way, and its up to them if they want to follow. my parents taught me what was right or wrong, still despite that, i did things that my parents sd ws wrong. we can only lead by example, but still our children would have to make the decision if they want to follow. we cant always guarantee that since parents are good people that their children wld also be good. if the dad was a lawyer, wld the son automatically become a lawyer also.. no .. if the mom is a nurse, wld the daughter automatically become a nurse also.... no ... whether we like it or not, whn our children grow up, they wld make their own decisions on how to live their own lives.
