Flash drives lighten bookbag loads

Students at Eastside Preparatory School in Kirkland, Wash., and three other campuses in the nation are shouldering much lighter backpacks, thanks to highly portable, school-issued USB flash drives. When plugged into a PC, the tiny device's Flash Content Processor allows users to access a special student Web Site where they can download digital textbooks, teachers notes and other tools.
