My Blog Communities

Everyday when I look around the train, my classroom, or my apartment building I see ordinary people living ordinary lives. There is nothing wrong with this choice. But I feel differently. My mind fills with ideas. I find mentors. I join different blog communities who invite me to become part of them, or sometimes I start a network for a good cause. I dare. I persist. I take the challenge.

Teacher Sol's Community Blogs:

Pinoy Teachers Network , Pinoy Teachers Network (too)= We are professional Filipino Educators. We are going to inspire, be proactive, give hope and go the extra mile. We believe that these are the values a nation needs from the leadership of its professional educators.

Jefferson Junior HS Community Website = This is a new and exciting community website designed specifically for Jefferson Junior HS students, parents, teachers and administrators as an information portal on issues and policy decisions impacting the teaching profession and public education in our school.

Sun Star Blog Chronicles = The Sun.Star Blog Chronicles is handled by Marlen del Mar-Limpag, online editor of the Sun.Star website. The section is devoted to the Sun.Star website’s coverage of the blogging community. The Sun.Star website is managed by the Sun.Star Network Exchange, a department under Sun.Star Publishing Inc. The department is headed by Nini B. Cabaero and is based in Cebu City, Philippines.

DC Area Writing Project Blog= This WEBLOG or On Line Journal is the DC Area Writing Project's forum for conversation, mentoring, and exchanging information. The DC Area Writing Project (DCAWP) a local site of the National Writing Project, is sponsored by Howard University School of Education and supported by the District of Columbia Public School System. The ultimate goal of the teachers in DCAWP is to enrich and empower our own lives and the lives of our students through writing. We seek to improve the writing of students in all grade levels in the District of Columbia metropolitan community.

National Writing Project = The NWP blog project is a pilot project that supports Technology Liaisons (TLs) at local writing project sites, and sites who are participants in the NWP Technology Initiative, in experimenting with weblog (blog) and content management systems (CMS) technology via a Manila platform. It is facilitated by members of the TL leadership team and NWP staff, and is coordinated through a National Writing Project contract with the Kern County Superintendent of Schools.

Did I accept too many invitations to join these blogging communities? Hey! I learn different things from each of them. I also try my best to be active to each of them; hopefully I will be able to maintain all. I enjoy my every posting in these blogging communities; and I get most of my entries from my good writings that I am willing to share to other readers who haven't read them yet. I thank my readers who appreciate my writings and the good things I do.

I am indeed a busy bee. Aside from my being a dedicated special ed teacher and my trying to maintain these community blogs, I still have emails to answer, blogs to moderate and other friends' blogs to look after. My friends understand that if they are getting emails or really looong emails from me, it only means that I give importance to these guys *wink* And for those blogs that I long to visit but really couldn't because of my tight schedule, pardon me. I find it really difficult to be a good blogger, but I am trying my best.

In my battle in life, I've learned some important things. Perhaps the smartest course of action is to retreat and reflect upon my options. Can the matter be settled in a non-confrontational, non-aggressive way? How far am I willing to go to preserve peace? Yes, the non-action of the wise man is not inaction. It is not shaken by anything. Wise men don't fight each other.

PEACE TO ALL! Cheers to us!

yeah, i definitely agree. pag-isipang maigi ang gagawing action or decision at huwag magpadala sa emosyon hangga't maaari.

Maria, Thank you so much! It looks great! So how are you going to teach me how to add all those funky pictures, word art, etc??? How did you get my picture to shrink? The link to student web journals goes to manila something online. Is that the correct site? Did you just copy and paste the profile to let people know about the site?

Hi Maria! Are you going to the annual meeting in Pittsburgh? If so, do you have a roommate? If not, would you like to room together? Let me know, ok?

Hope to see you soon. It sounds like you're very involved and growing in leaps and bounds!

PAO, definitely that's the best thing to do. I learned from a blogger friend from one of her entries: " Never argue with an IDIOT; she will bring you down to her level and beat you up with experience". So, quiet nalang yung mas nakakaunawa, but silence doen't mean surrender.

HONEYPOOH, no problemo friend.

ELIZABETH DAVIS, the summer invitation for the DC Area Writing Project will be up there in January...I know you'll be willing to help us disseminate the information through your new website *wink* and yep, I will add your site to the DCAWP blog links.

MRS C-S, I will teach you how to do all those stuff, let me get settled first in my school. I am also trying to finish the school community website right now, waiting for the principals go signal for its launching. I will get back to you, give me like 3 weeks...*blink, blink*

FERDIE, thanks for being nice and for complimenting my website. Actually, blogger.com is free and you can create your own personal website too, it's user friendly and the templates are easy to manipulate. Feel free to always leave me a message.

After reading your message medyo ok na ako.BTW i'm Kadyo's wife (blogger).

Teacher Sol, I'm glad to hear that you're involved with Sun Star's blogging efforts. My sister actually works there. She started as a field reporter. I believe she's currently doing copy editing.

BTW, thanks for your efforts on promoting MiG. I can't wait to see another MiG's opponent eliminated next week.

ANN, hush now girl. Ganyan talaga, "we cannot please all people at all times". Salamat sa pagiging reader mo ng entries ko ha *wink*, and for leaving a message for me here.

JOHN CLARK, yep! I'm exceited for the lauching of the Sun.Star Blog Chronicles, which will be soon. I am a Bicolana but it is my pleasure to be working for the Bisaya Community too.

Walang problema sakin to help in the promotions of our PINOY PRIDES, na-forward ko na rin pala sa lahat ng egroups ko yungf entry mo, hehe. Magaling na writer ka talaga, nakikita ko na you just need to be discovered.

DOPS, online ka rin pala, hehe. Walang problema satin sa Pinoy Teachers Network to give each other the recognition that all of us deserve. Lalo na ikaw, ngayon ko lang nabasa na achiever ka pala, hats off to you. Publishing your poem is an honor for us in the Pinoy Teachers Network. Thanks for giving us the permission.

T.Sol thanks for the inspiring words. I'm not a blogger but I enjoy reading yours and Ka Uro's blogs, they are very informative and I can see the bloggers' respect through their comments. A kind of blog na pwedeng ipagmalaki ng mga anak at magiging mga apo nyo someday sa halip na ikahiya. Keep it up.

SUSAN, yep, I am going to Pittsburgh for the National Writing Project's National Convention. Will be representing the DC Area Writing Project as the DCAWP Tech Liaison. If you're going, we can be roommates. And can we drive together too? The gas is on me, I got a Grant for that. Yeah! Thanks!

AME. SWEET, I hope these things won't discourage you, take it as a challenge. And don't worry, "Tough times never last but tough people do". Just keep on maintaining a positive mental attitude, silang pessimists na rin ang lalayo sa iyo. Just keep your friends, you will know who they are *wink*.

ANN, salamat din at hindi ka na lurker lang ngayon sa blog ko, haha...natutuwa ako because you're now sharing your thoughts with us. Actually, this Teacher Sol Blog is for all my Pinoy countrymen, kasi may personal blog din ako (ups, secret yan!) na para naman sa mga family and relatives ko.

LYNN, it's difficult to remain optimistic especially with what's happening to me personally, the negativity happening to our country back home, and the tragedies happening to the world. Maybe it's a gift and I want to share it will all of you who believe in the sincerity of my writings and the truthfulness of the littlest thing I do. I appreciate all of my readers' kind words *wink*
