D.C. scrambles to replace uncertified teachers

From the CEC Smart Brief:

In light of retirements and the dismissal last month of 370 uncertified teachers, Washington school officials have moved aggressively to fill what could be 750 vacancies this summer. The district's director of recruitment says the pool of candidates isn't large enough to cover a projected shortfall of 50 math educators and 100 special education teachers.
