New Teacher Profiles

I received this email last April 23, 2007:

Dear New Teacher Initiative Participant,

We hope you are having another productive year teaching and that this spring finds you well.

We offer our congratulations! You have been nominated by your writing project site leaders to be featured in one of our New Teacher Initiative resources—The New Teacher Profiles. The New Teacher Profiles will trace the pathways of several new teachers from initial involvement with NTI through continued growth as leaders with writing project work. They will be posted on the NWP Website. To be nominated is, indeed, an honor for you and for your site.

For us to make the final selection, we need some additional information from you. Please complete the attached New Teacher Initiative Interview Protocol and return it to either Nancy Remington (
nancy@scsr.nevada.edu) or Sharonda Johnson (shayjay2000@yahoo.com) by April 27, 2007. We are trying to complete the selection process by the end of April and will notify you then. If you have questions, please contact one of us.

Thank you and again, congratulations on your nomination. We are pleased to be celebrating and honoring new teachers and the work you are accomplishing.

Warm regards,

Marci Resnick, Linette Moorman, Nancy Remington, and Sharonda Johnson
NTI Leadership Team
They gave me instructions for the profile I had to submit:
Please write to us describing your teaching, your experience with NTI, and your experience with your local writing project site. We’re looking specifically for the information below to include on our NTI profiles.
To be continued...
