NYC "rubber rooms" house teachers in limbo

New York City teachers facing discipline or dismissal for various infractions or repeated poor performance evaluations are required to report to one of 12 reassignment centers or "rubber rooms" in order to continue to draw their salaries. A few of the teachers currently in this administrative limbo who are quoted in this article have yet to be informed of any alleged infraction. The New York Times
