Genetic engineering corrects Fragile X in mice

Massachusetts Institute of Technology researchers today reported that by manipulating the genetic code, they had alleviated the worst symptoms of Fragile X syndrome in mice. If experimental drugs have the same effect in humans, they could treat Fragile X as well as autism and mental retardation. Reuters
