Massachusetts school defends shock therapy

Frustrated in previous attempts to ban electroshock therapy at a Massachusetts school for children with severe disabilities, opponents instead asked state legislators to prohibit shocks for anything other than stopping students from hurting themselves or others. School officials said such a prohibition would disrupt its methods of preventing behavior by treating its precursors. The Boston Globe
