Volunteer made children with behavior issues feel safe

After 18 years as a "foster grandparent," Bessie Knight, 84, will retire from her daily volunteer work as a calming presence at a Annapolis, Md., school for children with emotional problems. "She knows how to calm them," said teacher Pamela Magee, who has worked with Knight for 11 years. "They respect her and are protective of her." The Sun (Baltimore)
