This presentation is designed for content teachers in grades 4-12 who work with diverse groups of learners. Students with learning difficulties and students with limited English proficiency have difficulty learning new concepts, especially when the language is more abstract and complex. Teachers will learn a how to develop a new concept by linking it to a concept that students already understand-The Concept Anchoring routine. Results of instruction with Concept Anchoring resulted in test score gains for all students.
