Effective teachers collaborate

Stanford University professor of education Linda Darling-Hammond, who founded the Stanford Educational Leadership Institute and the School Redesign Network, says the best teachers make time to collaborate with other educators on best practices. The most effective teachers also focus on individual student needs, allow students to apply what they have learned and improve student achievement by helping them better utilize their strengths, she says.
