NBPTS president: National Board Certification can serve as a model

Joseph A. Aguerrebere, Jr., president and CEO of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, says in this discussion on teacher effectiveness that the standards established by the National Board should serve as a guide. The standards have been shown to improve student learning and are "comparable across schools and classrooms," he writes.
