@CECMembership 's Yes I Can! Awards for #Specialneeds Kids

I received an email from Andrea Elkin, Communications Manager of the Council for Exceptional Children. Thanks to CEC for giving our deserving students with exceptionalities a chance to shine. Here I am posting Andrea's message:
.
Dear Maria,
.
Greetings from the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC). As you may know, we are an international professional organization dedicated to improving the educational success of children and youth with exceptionalities.
.
I am reaching out to share some information about our annual Yes I Can! Awards, in the hopes that you will mention the awards to your blog readers, who may be interested in submitting nominations or consider nominating someone you know. Through this program, students with exceptionalities — some for the first time in their lives — are recognized for their accomplishments in seven categories.
.
More about the Yes I Can! Awards: Students may be nominated by a parent, educator, or other adult. All 2013 winners will be acknowledged at the CEC 2013 Convention & Expo in San Antonio next April. All nominees receive a certificate of accomplishment, whether they win the award or not. And international candidates are welcome!
.
Nominations must be submitted by Oct. 19. This year our nominations are electronic, making submitting even easier! Please visit CEC’s Web site for more information, including eligibility guidelines and the Nomination Form.
.
For inspiration, you can also visit CEC’s YouTube page to watch footage from the 2012 awards ceremony.
.
I have also attached the 2013 Yes I Can! promotional flyer that you are more than welcome to use.
.
Thank you in advance for your support of this special awards program. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
.
.
.
Very sincerely,
Andrea
