According to a news report, a certain private school in Washington, DC was recently faced with a unique problem. A number of 12-year-old girls were beginning to use lipstick and would put it on in the bathroom.
That was fine, but after they put on their lipstick they would press their lips to the mirror leaving dozens of little lip prints. Every night the maintenance man would remove them and the next day the girls would put them back.
Several memos were posted about this, without effect. Finally the principal decided that something had to be done.
She called all the girls to the bathroom and met them there with the maintenance man. She explained that all these lip prints were causing a major problem for the custodian who had to clean the mirrors every night. To demonstrate how difficult it was to clean the mirrors, she asked the maintenance man to show the girls just how hard it was. Under careful instructions, the man took out a long-handled squeegee, solemnly dipped it in the nearest toilet bowl, and scrubbed at the mirror.
There was complete silence in the room. Since then, there have been no lip prints on the mirror.
There are Teachers ... and then there are Educators.

Magandang ideya!
nyahahaha nice one, teacher sol!!!
Sabi nila: "Baliw! It enhanced your beauty". Ngayon, konting powder and lipstik ok na ako lumabas.
Sabi ko Technically, I started blogging end of July 2004 with this blog being my test blog. In the header was written "My Heart Whispers" and it was an anthology of poems I give as examples to my students for their class digital anthology. I updated once a month, because I was focused in another blog, MY DIGITAL BOOK (www.teachersol.blog-city.com), my lifestory according to me from birth 'til present.
Then I got bored with the drama of my DIGITAL BOOK, I wanted something more interactive. Less than two months ago, I decided to change the title of the header of this blog, the layout, etc...and the poems were set aside in the links. This Teacher Sol blog was born, updated almost everyday except on weekends. Mahirap talagang mag-absent 'no? Thanks for pointing to me the link.
Oh my goodness! What a great story!

Ha ha ha.
But in all seriousness, I personally think that 12-year old girls are too young to be putting lipstick on. Or maybe I'm just conservative.

OFF TOPIC: hi GLENN EARL, BTW, just accidentally found 2 more gaerlan bloggers, the wonders of the blogosphere! SAM BALIBIT (not his real name) and PRADA MAMA (not her real name). They're in my blog links. Your roots are from Dumaguete? What's your e-mail addy?
Hi John! Back from Vegas too soon? when I was 12, I was still playing Luksong Tinik and never bothered to care about how I looked like in front of the boys. Still in shock up to now with the culture of my Junior High students. Maybe I'm as conservative as you.

Love your story! Take care.

yes, 12 yr olds in public school start putting make-up on early. even in private school, these girls put on make-up right after school. i was given an option to go to an all-girl catholic school in ninth grade. but after observing the girls' short, short skirts, and the same girls putting on make-up in the bus on the way somewhere after school, i backed out and went to the local public school instead. i'm keeping a close eye (and an open communication) on my third grade daughter --- peer pressure is scary.

ZACH, thanx for dropping by my blog. There was a military man, from the navy, who made a review of my DIGITAL BOOK (www.teachersol.blog-city.com) who really took the time to finish every page and chapter of the story. You're the first military man to appreciate my teaching blog though. Take care and keep writing! I'll be reading from now on.
MILKPHISH, Good you pointed that out to me. It's really good to maintain an open communication with our kids. I guess it's still too early for me to get worried about my 7 y/o daughter putting on "real lipstick" (we let her put chapsticks, and she likes imitating mom putting on make-up) but lifes running too fast now.

hi teacher sol,
my daughter is only 3 yrs old, everytime she sees her mom put on some lipstick she wants to do the same.she cries whn i tell her tht is bad for her at her age. so grandma bought her those kids pretend lipstick. kids nowadays start young. also speaking of lipstick and makeup, that is why pinays i believe are still one of the prettiest women in the world bec even wthout makeup they are still pretty.
Hirap magblog hop :P I have read that somewhere but it still is a funny story.
True...
"There are teachers and there are educators"..nice!
ARVIN, my daughter is starting to imitate me too when I put on powder and lipsick. It's her tita's fault, she gave her a really nice big time make up set (for kids, hypoallergenic) which is better than my make -up kit Now she's so kikay na talaga with matching nail polish pa!
PATRICE, haha, it's really exhausting to be a good blogger...
ISABELA, Corporal punishment yang sinasabi mo, bawal yan dito makukulong ako.
galing!
