Fr. Stephen Cuyos, Our Pinoy Tech Priest

I was truly happy with my first successful podcasting, which makes me reflect on how and when to do it here in my own educator's blog. I promise everyone that it's going to be real soon. Thanks to Zarah G. (Local PTN Moderator) for letting me know how she felt about my first podcast, her blog entry is a tear jerker for me.

In the Pinoy Teachers Network community blog, Bing told me in her comment: "hi, Sol, my first intro to podcast is when a priest, with a blog titled Cuying featured one of my poems in Podcast. he has a beautiful voice and had executed the piece very well. "

Of course I know Fr. Stephen Cuyos, our Pinoy Tech Priest, because we are together as writers in the Sun.Star Blog Chronicles. We started corresponding through email after we visited each other's blog a few months ago. He is a Missionary of the Sacred Heart, a Filipino priest who blogs & podcasts from Rome, ITALY. According to him, he is a Cappuccino lover. He is also a Bisdak, a Linux user, an Open Source devotee and a member of the Disciples With Microphones network.

Honestly, the first time I saw his blog and read his entires, I felt like I just came out of the confessional box and a priest cleansed my soul. His blog is full of positivity that recharged my energy from being drained of pessimists and the tragedies happening around the world. He has a positive mental attitude resulting from a life guided by faith and dedicated to self-improvement and service.

He was the first among Pinoy bloggers that I've seen doing podcast in his blog. A "Tech Priest" indeed, very impressive! I was teary eyed while listening to his podcasts. His voice was soothing and the background music he use is very calming. I learned that he actually knows some bloggers that know too. I was hoping to influence more Pinoys to be optimistic with my proactive blog. And here he is, doing the same. He made me realize that I am doing the right thing, I found an inspiration in him. For me, the world is a better place because we have people like Fr. Stephen Cuyos.

My message to him:

Fr. Stephen,

Hello! From the bottom of my heart I want to apologize for my very late expression of gratitude for the postcard and medallion from Lourdes. I got it two weeks ago and I got so busy and exhausted with the first 2 weeks of classes from decorating our classrooms, to preparing for lesson plans, etc...I found it difficult to cope recently. I hope I will be back soon blog-hopping and replying to my emails :D How are you? Would you know when the launching for the Sun.Star Blog Chronicles is going to be?

THANKS SO MUCH for remembering me...

Hello Teacher Sol. Fr. Stephen also featured an open-letter which I wrote for my mom last Mother's Day. He's a very nice guy. I haven't met him yet in person but I'm familiar with his religious order. I also sent him an MP3 of my original music which I composed in the US for his podcast. He only uses royalty-free materials for his background music. I promised to write him a praise and worship song. But I couldn't finish it until now :-( This priest really rocks!

I haven't given podcasting much thought. Maybe it's because I fear of failure. Failure to put it on my blog. As the saying goes, "you can't teach old dogs new tricks". But maybe i will when I got the time. Mukhang masarap maglagay ng audio sa blog. Mag-rerecord ako ng tugtog namin nung son ko. hehe

JOHN CLARK, that's the word, HE ROCKS! Hmmm. I better go back to his blog asap and listen to your Mother's Day letter. I sensed that you are musically inclined too, magkakasundo kayo ng hubby ko talaga!

KA URO, pagkatapos mangopya, syempre dapat mangumpisal ako, hehe *wink*
