AUTISM: Child Exceptionality Study

National Children's Study to probe disease factors

The National Institutes of Health yesterday named six centers across the nation that will launch a massive effort to follow 100,000 children from before birth through adulthood in the largest-ever health study of its kind. U.S. Surgeon-General Richard Carmona said researchers will pay particular heed to environmental causes of many common diseases, including autism and diabetes. (Reuters Health)
