Massachusetts teacher Emily Boulger's multisensory use of art to inspire her students with special needs has won her the state's 2008 special-education art educator award. "I found the special education kids made art that was more fascinating and interesting than the stuff I saw in art school," she said. "Art helps kids remember what they learn, and it's more exciting and fun for them." The Salem News (Mass.)
