You must become an advocate of what you believe, otherwise you will become a victim of what others want you to believe. - JESSE JACKSON

Dear Filipino/ teachers,

Please take pride in who you are and in those values and beliefs for which you stand. Be proud of your education, work, and personal accomplishments. Don't be afraid of who you are, since you act with courage and compassion. Tell others, and bask in the feeling of being your best.

(by ERUANNIE) If you are:

1. a pinoy/pinay educator in practice and in deed

2. retired or currently teaching and in the field of education

3. an advocate for teaching, school, education, and the like...

...you are invited to join us. Be decisive. You don't allow yourself to become paralized by indecision. Take the initiative. Do it now.

Success may involve many mistakes and disappointments. Let's try anyway. If we hesitate too long, doubts may linger and turn into fears. Yes, we may be rejected. Yes, we may fail. The difference between successful people and others is not whether we make mistakes or even temporarily fail, but how we respond.

Inspiring, being proactive, giving hope, and going that extra mile -- these are the values a nation needs from the leadership of its professional educators.

WE CAN DO IT! PINOY/ PINAY TEACHERS, UNITE!

You are now invited to visit our official website/ Bulletin Board: http://pinoyteachersnetwork.blogspot.com .

Join in our discussions, speak your mind with us. Help us disseminate our existence. Tell everyone about it.

Check out our Bulletin Board, see you there!

From the bottom of our passionate hearts, the Pinoy Teachers Network would like to sincerely thank your kindness for our logos, JONAS DIEGO (creator of Yan ang Pinay logo).

HONEYPOOH, yep, help us spread the word.

SHA, watcha think of our Bulletin Board? Any suggestions for improvement is welcome by the group.

VONJOBI, sige lang, anytime welcome any support from you guys! Sakit ngipin, sakt ulo, pero eto still blogging for advocacy and passion -- on education.

EVI, please help us spread the word about our group. Pls tell your friends about us. Thanks *wink*

This is a nice idea Teacher Sol! I actually saw this first on DubaiChronicles (sa comments section). Cheers to the success of the group!

more power to your group.

PICHAPIE, I like it that you pasted the logo to your blog's sidebar to show membership & support. I will do the same *wink* Nauna pa sakin maglagay ng logo sa sidebar. Help naman mag-moderate ng egroup, on training ako at di maka-blog parati. Just welcome each new member pls.

BABYPINK, "It's too bad that the people who can run the country are busy teaching in their classrooms." Tama ba? Hindi ako ang nagsabi nyan...

WATSON, pls help us spread the word about us, we need to be united so we can be stronger, so we can better help the school children back home.

NIKKI, Why can't she? Your mom can still join us, tulungan mo mag-open ng email account at turuan mo mag-check ng emails. Help her naman, kung may time pa sya at kung may time ka pa, hehe. Regards to your mom, saludo ako sa gurong Pilipino!

Hey Teacher Sol,

It's great to see teachers being united like this. I do hope it can also be a tool to be used to teach the less fortunate kids who cannot go to school because of distance ( in our country's rural areas). I dream that teachers like you can reach out to these kids... SOMEDAY!

ANONYMOUS, thank you for the support. Since I posted this entry in my blog and strated inviting Pinoy Teachers to join the Network, our www.pinoyteachersnetwork@yahoogroups.com, the official egroup has been very busy all day & night. I couldn't keep up welcoming the new members anymore. Thank goodnees there are 7 of us in the core group who can be the moderator for the egroup discussions. I'm already exhausted when I go home after this intensive training as an assessor for the National Board certification. I hope we get more members so we can better help those school children in the remote areas back home who need our help.

SHA, thanks for your positive response and for helping us spread the word about our network. Dumadami na ang members, I'm getting membership requests evryday & membership acceptance. So far so good. I will wait for your email.

Sali ako diyan! Dati rin akong guro ng Araling Panlipunan back in the early eighties bago ako naging isang magbubukid at migranteng pinoy.

MABUHAY KAYO!

Unknown said...

NIKKI, do you know that there's a Pinay Teacher here in Washington DC still teaching special ed up to now, totally blind sya because of cataract. 10 years na! take note, she's one of the best teachers here at I passed my 2 major state board exams because of her. I will blog about her next week. Her story is really inspiring to me!

Kung maging biktima man ang Pinoy Teachers Network, ang masasabi ko lang..."we'll get by, with a smile"...

MARISOL, I know that your training is taking up most of your energy right now. Ganyan din ako pag-summer. Walang tigil! Ipinaplano ang travel itinerary for August, also! When attempting a relaxing moment, nasa harap ng computer monitor! Bakit ganyan tayo, no?

I'm here to help you out. I posted the info on my blogs. Lumalaki na ang network, nakakatuwa!

So take a break ok? I have your back!

LIZ, thanks a lot for responding to my SOS, can't really moderate the egroup right now. The messages are unbearable for me considering my very tight schedule for this training. We'll see each other soon! I am soo excited!

GOYONG, Hmmm, I will let the core group members decide about your membership. Where's the URL to your blog?
